Schroef
De kleptuimelaar speelt een belangrijke rol in motoren met een onderliggende nokkenas. Het onderdeel zet de draaiende beweging van de nokkenas om in een verticale beweging, waardoor de inlaatklep geopend en gesloten wordt. Een versleten kleptuimelaar kan leiden tot problemen zoals vermogensverlies, een stotterende motor en een hoger brandstofverbruik.
